STEP 1: Determine Your Membership Category
Note: To complete your membership application, you will be asked to pay your dues, if any, with a VISA or MasterCard at the end of the application process. Your annual dues will be prorated based on your application date. Thereafter, dues are billed semi-annually, in January and July.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP: $225 per year
Licensed by the Illinois Bar for more than 4 years.
NEW ADMITTEE MEMBERSHIP (Licensed by the Illinois State Bar for 4 years or less):
Once you enter the date you were admitted into the State Bar, the system will calculate your dues accordingly.
1st Year Admitted to the State Bar - Free
2nd Year Admitted to the State Bar - $40 per year
3rd Year Admitted to the State Bar - $70 per year
4th Year Admitted to the State Bar - $112.50 per year
5th Year Admitted to the State Bar - Automatic upgrade to Regular Membership - $225 per year
GOVERNMENT & RETIRED ATTORNEYS: $112.50 per year
Judges, State's Attorneys, Public Defenders and Retired Attorneys (to qualify as "Retired" you must be listed as such with the ARDC).
AFFILIATED PARTNER: $1,250 per year
For corporations, professionals and non-practicing attorneys to attend events at member rates, network with NWSBA members, advertise at member rates and use the NWSBA logo on their web site.
LAW STUDENT: Free
Law student memberships are free to those actively enrolled in an accredited Law School.
STEP 2: Determine your Directory Visibility Level (applies only to Regular and New Admittee memberships)
As a Regular or New Admittee member of the NWSBA, you are entitled to a free basic listing
in the "Find a Lawyer" Directory on our web site's home page. This
listing is searchable by both members and
non-members and can be an important referral source for
you. Choose between the following two levels of directory visibility:
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP: No additional charge
Includes the member’s name, address and phone number.
PREMIER MEMBERSHIP: $75 additional charge per dues cycle/$150 per year
Includes all of the above, PLUS the
member’s email address, website link, the opportunity to upload a photo, a link to your full profile which will include areas of practice, multiple office location listings (if applicable), schools attended, other states where you're licensed to practice, and a free-form biography section.
